TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup - East Point Park Beach
Saturday September 26, 2009
10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Rain or Shine
East Point Park Beach, Scarborough
(meet at East Point Park parking lot, at the end of Beechgrove Dr.,
across from the Highland Creek Sewage Treatment Plant)
Did you know that it takes 400 years for a plastic bottle to break down in nature? That cigarettes are the most common litter found on Canadian shorelines? That one plastic bag mistaken as food could ruin the life of a 60 year old turtle? Join friends, family and neighbours, as we remove these nasty pollutants from our beach at East Point Park.
Gloves, garbage bags, refreshments and snacks will be provided to registrants. Prizes will be given for the most litter collected and the quirkiest find!
